Biographie
Kalki Koechlin ist eine indische Schauspielerin und Drehbuchautorin französischer Herkunft, die überwiegend in Bollywood arbeitet. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Filmschauspielerin ist sie auch regelmäßig in Theaterproduktionen in Indien vertreten. Koechlin erhält einen nationalen Filmpreis, einen Filmfare Award und zwei Screen Awards. Schon in jungen Jahren zum Theater hingezogen, studierte Koechlin Theater an der University of London und arbeitete gleichzeitig mit einer lokalen Theatergruppe zusammen. Nach ihrer Rückkehr nach Indien gab sie 2009 ihr Leinwanddebüt im Romantikdrama Dev.D., und für ihren Auftritt als Chandramukhi erhielt sie den Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. Danach spielte sie in den Komödie-Dramen Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) und Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).
